How a pro padel player replaced autopilot mornings with 15 barefoot minutes.
Simone Alipieva is a professional padel player and, in just a few years, has become one of the most prominent names in Danish padel. In 2024, she won double gold at the Danish Championships and has competed internationally as well. She’s known for her determination, energy, and her constant drive to grow - both physically and mentally. But behind the medals lies another focus: balance. For Simone, mornings have become an anchor; a quiet space where she reconnects with herself before the world starts moving.
“I’ve learned to take time for the little things, like my skincare routine. It’s not about doing a lot, it’s about creating calm. That’s where I truly feel myself, and most importantly, where I choose to slow down with intention.”
There was a time when Simone rushed out the door. She’d wake up and already feel behind - stressed, on autopilot, with her mind spinning through everything she had to get done. Now, her mornings look completely different. She steps outside for 15 minutes, barefoot in the grass, just to breathe and feel grounded. When she’s traveling for tournaments, she does 15 minutes of mobility work, either in her hotel room or on court.
“I need to wake my body up and connect with it before I can expect anything from it. I know now that I perform best when I start in calm not in chaos.”
“Sleep has become just as important to me as training. It might sound basic, but as an athlete, you quickly realize you can’t perform without proper recovery.” Simone sleeps with nasal and mouth strips to improve her breathing, always keeps a glass of water by her bed, and aims to be asleep around 10 p.m. When she’s on the road, routines can be unpredictable, but she’s learned not to stress about it.
