Mornings Matter

Simone Alipieva

“There’s always a new day. I used to beat myself up when things weren’t perfect - now I just say ‘whatever’. That mindset has changed everything. Some days flow, others don’t - and that’s okay. The key is to keep learning, adjusting, and showing up. That’s where the strength is.”

How a pro padel player replaced autopilot mornings with 15 barefoot minutes.

Simone Alipieva is a professional padel player and, in just a few years, has become one of the most prominent names in Danish padel. In 2024, she won double gold at the Danish Championships and has competed internationally as well. She’s known for her determination, energy, and her constant drive to grow - both physically and mentally. But behind the medals lies another focus: balance. For Simone, mornings have become an anchor; a quiet space where she reconnects with herself before the world starts moving.

“I’ve learned to take time for the little things, like my skincare routine. It’s not about doing a lot, it’s about creating calm. That’s where I truly feel myself, and most importantly, where I choose to slow down with intention.”

There was a time when Simone rushed out the door. She’d wake up and already feel behind - stressed, on autopilot, with her mind spinning through everything she had to get done. Now, her mornings look completely different. She steps outside for 15 minutes, barefoot in the grass, just to breathe and feel grounded. When she’s traveling for tournaments, she does 15 minutes of mobility work, either in her hotel room or on court.
“I need to wake my body up and connect with it before I can expect anything from it. I know now that I perform best when I start in calm not in chaos.”

“Sleep has become just as important to me as training. It might sound basic, but as an athlete, you quickly realize you can’t perform without proper recovery.” Simone sleeps with nasal and mouth strips to improve her breathing, always keeps a glass of water by her bed, and aims to be asleep around 10 p.m. When she’s on the road, routines can be unpredictable, but she’s learned not to stress about it.

“I’ve realized there’s no quick fix when it comes to health. For me, it’s about truly listening to my body, accepting when it says stop, and learning to let go of the constant urge to perform. Every day, I try to create balance - to nourish my body, find calm, get deep sleep, and accept that progress takes time. It’s not a destination it’s a journey I have to keep reminding myself to be present in.”

From Inflammation to Intention

“My life is fast, intense, and full of travel. I love it - I thrive in the energy - but I’ve also learned I need moments of stillness. I’m an extrovert who gains energy from people, but I also need quiet to recharge. That’s why I always look for ways to slow down; a sauna, a massage, a physio session. That’s where I find balance amid all the movement and noise.”

Recently, Simone also made major changes to her diet after taking a food intolerance test in London. For over 11 years, she struggled with wrist pain, bloating, and fatigue. The test revealed sensitivities to gluten and several foods she used to eat regularly.

“It was a huge wake-up call. Now I eat fully anti-inflammatory, and I can feel the difference - in my energy, my skin, and my recovery. For years, I was feeding my body inflammation, but now I work with it, not against it. aioss has been a huge part of that shift - it reminds me how important it is to give my body what it truly needs.”

aioss as an anchor

Simone travels constantly, and she used to carry a whole bag of supplements, something was always missing. Now, aioss goes everywhere with her. She rarely eats breakfast before training, so it gives her peace of mind knowing, that she still gives her body some of the nutrients, energy, and balance it needs. It’s become her little morning ritual. Nothing fancy - just simple, calm, and grounding. “I love that aioss makes it easy. It gives me a sense of natural energy and clarity, without overstimulation. In a world that’s always pushing for more, I love having something that simply brings me back to balance.”

Three Things We Can Learn from Simone’s Mornings

  1. Move before you think “Get your body going before your mind starts racing. Even 15 minutes of movement can shift your entire day. It’s about creating energy - not forcing it.”
  2. Keep your mornings slow “Don’t grab your phone first thing. Choose your inputs with intention. A calm morning sets the tone for everything that follows.”
  3. Listen to your body - not your schedule “I used to push through everything, but now I stop when my body says no. It’s not about weakness - it’s about wisdom. Your body tells you everything you need to know, if you’re willing to listen.”
