Mornings Matter

Camilla Holm

“For me, meditation isn’t about pushing thoughts away. It’s about awareness - understanding what’s going on inside me, and then choosing who I want to be.”

Where leadership development meets mindfulness before sunrise.

For Camilla, leadership development and organizational transformation always come down to one thing: people. Real change doesn’t happen through grand strategies or big ideas alone - it begins with the ability to shift your internal landscape. And that’s why her mornings matter.

Camilla is a management consultant working with leadership and change. Her work is about helping people, and the systems they’re part of, evolve in a sustainable way. Her own mornings reflect the same approach: rooted in mindset, embodiment, neuroscience, and daily practice.

With two small children, her day begins in a soft, grounded role as a mother. She’s fully present, loving and calm, as her first priority is being there for them. Only once the house quiets down does her inward practice begin. Camilla meditates, visualizes, and checks in with herself: What’s going on inside me today? What kind of energy am I holding? What do I want to step into instead?

When time allows, she’ll spend up to an hour in this space. Other days, it might be just a few minutes. A single breath. A moment of stillness while still lying in bed. What matters is the intention - not the length.

“Even if you only have 15 seconds, that’s enough. If all you have is one minute when you first open your eyes, start there. Make it a micro-habit.”

"Who is the woman I’m becoming? What does she do in the morning? How does she feel in her body?"

Future Self, Embodied

Camilla works intentionally with her future self - not as something idealized or abstract, but as a grounded tool for change. She asks herself:

For her, it always comes back to how she feels. The emotional state comes before the strategy - and that’s where real manifestation starts. A calm, regulated nervous system supports this process, and her mornings are built to protect that space.

Rather than setting strict rules, Camilla focuses on creating rituals that support the version of her she’s growing into. That might mean 45 minutes of meditation. Or it might be one conscious minute before her kids wake up.

Not About Rules - But Rhythm

Camilla tracks her sleep and has deep respect for her body’s rhythms, but she doesn’t hold herself to rigid routines. Life with kids is dynamic, and she’s learned to flow with it rather than resist it.

Ultimately, her mornings are an act of love, for her children, for herself, and for the vision she’s manifesting into the world.

Three Things We Can Learn From Camilla

Camilla’s mornings aren’t about getting more done;  they’re about coming back to herself. Her way of starting the day is a quiet reminder that:

  1. Real change starts by tuning in, not doing more.
  2. There’s no perfect routine - only small rituals that make you feel like who you want to be.
  3. Who you’re becoming is shaped by the actions you take today.

Whether it’s one conscious breath or a full hour of reflection, the practice is the same:

Meet yourself where you are, and begin again.
